What now?

The Bailout plan passed! Errhh.... i'm one of the voters for this while hubby is not, partially not. If the plan failed, what would the whole economy have become? A global one. It's the world thing. Look at just the AIG case alone, if the governor didn't step in, how many people affected? Not only the US people, it's the world. They r just so huge. The fateful Monday when news announced, my bro-in-law's (an AIA financial consultant) was holding his phone for hours and hours. My best frend rushed to my place for the news. Besides investment plan, assets and all family members were insured by AIA. See, people concern about their $, their life-savings, their investment and retirement plan. Yes, some people on the US street says: "why save these big guys whom have earned millions of $. Helping them to tide over with taxpayer $ now? with my hard-earned $? Who has helped me when i'm in need? Let them go to hell".

The frustration is understandable. But if really, when that happens, the boat sinks. Hubby says, they should all sink and fresh start all over again. Re-look at the whole system, people. At one point i have to agree. One re-live when u're at the extreme end of agony, or rather, at your lowest point. That's when you start thinking, mapping, looking, working with new mind. Similarly, the South Korean had sunked and took years (almost 10) to rebuild. They are doing well now. But US is ever the big brother. A hard sneeze, all little brothers and sisters are not immune to that. Either sooner or later, or seriously or lightly, you caught a little of the virus. Or at least, a small part of it. We are one family, a whole as a world.

Solving family matters, comforting people's heart. Losing roofs, keeping cash. US is busy with patching up work. Shipment facing: No spending, No import.
The Olympic games over, comes the poison food. China is struggling with the tainted milk scandal and poisoned food. Shipment facing: No export.
Indian is up and coming, but the bombs, riots, boycott..... Shipment facing: Port congestion.
F1 over, looking forward to Youth Olympic and IR in town. Occasionally, we had a cold from our siblings. Shipment facing: At least 50% down on export.
(TM. may be exaggerate in my own words, own view)

Hubby has been saying: Cash is King!
With very low interest rates now, what can we do with our $? Keep in milo tin? The advisor said: Fixed Deposits!
Prices of private homes drop from its peak. How much $ we have to put aside for our loans and expenses for at least 6 months standing in case there is really a recession? What if it takes longer? 1 year? 2years? Will that happen?
