Bad-mouth

Received an email on Thur which shocked and saddened the company. Someone has bad-mouthed one of the lady sales and MD in one of our group company. The message was circulared to the most of managers in our sister companies, except the company where the 2 lead role were in. I wonder if this mail was being sent to customers and outsiders as well. Because i know this sales lady very well, i was very upset and greatly affected by it. Another lady manager from the other dept was very disturbed by it and it affected her the whole nite. We were thinking hard if we should tell the both of them about this, as it could be very awkward and embarrass. But on the other hand, what if the whole world has known beside them? That's very cruel.

The message was so obvious that it was sent from either their ex-staff, or one working with them. It shown the jealousy and unfairness the sender felt in the office. I tried calling but couldn't get the sales lady. As the supervisor was very close to her, i asked her if there is anything going on in her dept? or whether there were 'hatred' between the staff? Then i told her i received a 'defamation' issue about lady sales and her MD, whether she heard anything yet? I was contemplating to tell her the story since we are all very good friend besides being colleagues. This is a very serious matter, especially towards someone who is still single, doing sales. It is about reputation. We agreed not to leak it out yet till she heard something. Then again, we were still in shock and very bothered. We keep thinking if we should let the sales lady know about this......

Before the day ends, i've decided to tell her. Imagine how would you feel if you're being the last to know things said bad about you? And, what if the market talks about it before yourself realise you are the one they have been gossiping about? I told her, and forwarded her the email, requesting the management to investigate and clear her name. As my lady boss also received the circulared mail, she was saying we should be able to trace the sender, and was concerned how the sales lady took it.

Till here, i realise it was so wrong of me to share it with the supervisor. I should leave it to the management, or the sales lady to handle it. I find myself being such a kpo and what if people think i'm the big mouth to leak the message out. Oh My God! A good lesson learnt. Just do your own things, Don't meddle. Don't act smart. Don't be sympathetic. Don't open your eyes so wide. Don't take things too hard. Don't be the first one to act. Don't act fast. Don't think too much.

We shall see what happen on Monday.... Ooops! Don't see. Don't talk. Don't act. Don't concern.
I'll work hard outside office from now onwards....... Promise! Office is the scariest...... Promise!
