3 hours nanny

Reached home at about 6.15pm. After i finished with my first dish at about 6.40pm, bestest frend called, asked me to pick up her son, my godson. She has worked late and not able to reach the childcare by 7pm. On the way to fetch him, i was a little 'kan cheong', worry that he's the last one waiting, worry the disappointed look on him when he saw mummy not there..... After that brought him home for shower and dinner. So far, ever since he was 3 months old, (hubby babysit him for the first 3 months) this is the first time he spent a good 3 hours with us, without mummy.

After those 3 precious hours, i really have mixed feelings. When I was busy in the kitchen, he would shout "Godma, look! (pointing to the tv)xxxxman..." Actually i din quite really get him, did he say superman or dunno wat suruman.... but i still need to response to him. Then a while later, he said something again and u noe kids always 'need' your response and attention, they make sure u're listening if not they'll repeat and repeat. So i was like, "wow", "ok", "good", "u watch urself, i'll get dinner ready ya"... etc etc... Dinner time, he insisted he feed himself and ya, u'd think ok, u should let him learn it and do it, but 'expectedly' ended up with rice all over the table then finally he let u feed him. And the usual 'I dun want this', 'I want that, some more some more'... Hubby almost fainted (even with this). I'd have thought he behave quite good oredi. Those are just wat 'normal' children r doing. To me, he is an 'okay' boy. So long as u explain to him, he usually would listen and say ok.

Otherwise, it is quite heart-warming to see hubby playing with him, hugging him and listen to their laughter, singing songs while i was cleaning up in the kitchen. This 'okay' boy is lovely when he listens to watever i say, and he has never been too difficult all these while. But, the 3 hours made me felt a little loss over wat i've not 'complete' for myself. Only 3 hours, but i found i have a lot to do, i'm occupied and much things not done. I canot imagine if i have to care for him 24/7. OMG! I'm enough with that big baby oredi....

But he was really lovely, and cheeky too. I have to admit he made me laugh. When his mummy came to pick him, wanted him to say bye bye to us. He did, but walked to the sofa. Then while waiting for the lift, he told mummy that godma shower and feed him dinner oredi. Mummy asked if he wants Godma to pick him from school, he turned to me and point his finger "Godma, tomorrow okay".... His look was so serious and we canot help laughing ;p

We have built up a bond with him ever since his birth. I was there in the labour room, witnessed him, welcoming him in his birthday suit on that special 19th May. We'll try to attend his school event in future, be with him no matter what, providing him watever he is lack of. We try.
